The
Pre-Kindergarten program objectives are centered around the development of the child. The program provides opportunities for children to learn through a wide range of experiences. Oral language skills and reading readiness skills are developed through songs, poems, finger plays, games, stories, and role-playing, and computer based reading readiness programs. Math concepts are developed through shapes, manipulative, songs and games. Music, physical education, and creative art activities are incorporated into the program. Students grow in their faith through daily prayer and activities that develop Christian moral standards. An emphasis on creativity, cooperation, and self-control lays a foundation for academic learning.

The
Kindergarten Program is developmentally oriented. The Religion curriculum follows the guideline of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Emphasis is placed on living and practicing the teachings of Jesus. The basic skills incorporated into the reading curriculum include reading readiness, recognition of letters and their sounds, recognition of frequently used words, and the writing of letters. The reading instruction is enhanced by using several computer reading programs. Writing skills are practiced daily. In Math, the focus is on number concepts, recognition of numbers and number words, counting, time and money, graphing, geometry, patterns and simple addition and subtraction. Color words and color recognition are stressed. Gross and fine motor development and socialization skills are included, as are music, art, and physical education. Manipulative materials are used throughout the curriculum to foster the development of various levels of learning. Activities encourage children to interact with one another and develop a sense of relationship and belonging. Daily living concepts teach self-discipline, responsibility, and a working knowledge of appropriate learning activities.
