To enter first grade, a child must be six years old by September 1, as verified by a birth certificate. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children must be four and five years old, respectively, by that same date.
Children entering Kindergarten and first graders who are new to the school, take the Brigance Screening test in the spring; new students entering grades 2 through 7 take a placement test.
At the time of registration, the following are needed:
Birth certificate
Baptismal certificate
Current immunization information
Completed registration form
A copy of the latest report card and standardized testing results (grades 2 and up)
A non-refundable tuition deposit of $100
In enrolling new students at Ascension, preference is given to:
1. Siblings of students who are currently enrolled
2. Members of Ascension Parish
3. Catholic families, whose parish does not have a school
4. Non-Catholic families
Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore do not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, sex, or national origin.
