Instrumental Music:
The purpose of this program is to broaden the education of the child by giving him an experience in and an understanding of music. Classes are organized offering instruction on band instruments to all interested students in 4th through 8th grade and guitar instruction for students in grades 7 and 8. Classes meet once a week from October through May except on school holidays (minimum of 28 sessions). Lessons are given at school during the day; a rotating schedule is used so that children do not miss the same class. Several concerts are performed by the band during the year. Instruction is offered on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, snare drum, and guitar (7th and 8th grade only). There is a non-refundable registration fee and an annual tuition rate with a family discount for more than one child.

Hot Lunch:
Ascension has a school lunch program for students. Hot lunches may be purchased
from a menu provided every two weeks. Milk may be purchased at a reduced rate.

Health:
Screening for hearing, vision, and scoliosis is provided for students of Ascension School by Baltimore County. Health records are kept for all students. New students require an up-to-date immunization record before they enter Ascension.

Transportation:
Transportation is provided by the parents, who are encouraged to car pool. Public transportation is available 2 and 1/2 blocks from the school.

Guidance:
Ascension provides students with group and individual counseling services. The counselor may meet with students who experience loss of parents or loved ones, or who are experiencing other challenges in society today.
